See what I mean? This kid loves to hide.  But as soon as you ask "Where's Will?" he jumps up and says "HERE I AM, HERE I AM!!!".

27

I think there is some cartoon confusion going on in our house.
Will doesn't know if he wants to be more like Diego with the binoculars or Caillou with the frog boots!
He was hunting alligators in the backyard with his 'best friends' Alli & Chili.

Who needs bouncey chairs and exersaucers when you have a basket?

Despite the look on his face, Luke actually loves to sit in this basket and play. He is so content in there, and I giggle every time at how much he enjoys sitting in the darn thing.

Bouncing was so much fun with our friends. I was impressed with how much Luke enjoyed it, especially for his first time!  I am starting to see the potential in having two boys close in age: instant playmates.

Because I am an over-achiever, I have the need to do double posts today! Here is William, all ready to go to church. He absolutely loves going and seeing his friends in his classroom. Last week, out of the blue, he started singing his prayers that he learned in his Sunday class, and I am pretty sure I felt my heart melt into a little puddle.

Lucas is becoming rather adept at pushing toys and baskets around the house. He will let go with both hands to test his balance. I am so amazed at seeing him learn new things! ...and seriously considering buying a helmet for him :) Who cares if I am "that mom"? Here is the video clip:

My Momma's Boy . Luke loves me so much, he cries every time I leave OR enter a room. He definitely has mommy-itis. But I sure do love holding him, especially when he snuggles his head up against me. He can be such a teddy bear.

It was a BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, GLORIOUS day! 75, Blue Skies, Sun. We spent every single minute that the boys were not napping or eating outside. We walked the nieghborhood, went to the park and played with friends outside. These are the days that you love living in Texas. Maybe Will is working on his own blog??

Power Wheels vs. Little Tikes

It stopped raining! It was warm and so we played cars outside! Lukey is teething horribly, and this was the happiest he had been in three days. Poor kid, at 7 months he already had six teeth, and now he is getting two more at 9 months. I wish they would just come out!!!

Double Trouble. Just hanging out, waiting to get into something.
I really wonder what was going through those little gears in Will's head???

To you, it's cushions on the floor, but to me, it's a house, with a door for me & my dog. A place where I can play, and pretend, and use my imagination!

18

Our four legged step children. Poor doggies, ever since we had kids, they have taken a back seat, and they were my first babies! Alli had a little alone time today, since she had her vet check up. She LOVES to go for car rides, hang her head out of the window, and so she really enjoyed the ride there. She is such a sweet dog, and wayyyy too smart. If you even think 'bath', even without any other tell tale clues, she will hide immediately. She either has doggy ESP or knows when she smells. Well, I hate New Year's resolutions, but mine is going to be to give more love to the dogs. Damn it.

William loves to hide in little spaces. I guess this is a stage? He doesn't really mind if you find him, but he just loves to hide. His top three spots are 1.) the couch cushions 2.) the bed pillows and 3.) the curtains in my bedroom. But if he asks, don't tell him I told you!

Another Saturday night with friends. Over the past 4 years, we have spent the majority of our Saturday nights hanging out with our good friends at their houses our ours. In those four years, we have welcomed many new additions (five to be exact) to our fiestas, and the nights now start and end a lot earlier and the amount of wine has all but been replaced with juice boxes (Why don't kids don't understand the concept of sleeping in???). Here are three of the little additions enjoying their pizza and puffs at the kids table. Will and Luke are already pulling the "do you like see-food?" joke!

Luis & I put the boys in the tub, and I just decided to let them have at it. The more they splashed, the more they laughed, and they had a blast together. William even washed Luke's hair with the bubbles!? Seriously though, Luis ended up sitting on the sink to stay dry, and I used the shower curtain for protection, and it took two large towels to mop up the floor. But it was worth watching them have so much fun :)

OK! I am so back-blogging! I have to catch up for 5 days. Even though I've been taking photos, I haven't been very good at keeping up with the blog part this week, but I am determined to do this for the entire year, and realistically, I will have to play catch up once in a while if I am going to stick with it...

Here is Lukey. He is at that age where he loves to look at other kids, babies especially, and himself the most! He loves to sneak into my room to look in the wardrobe mirror. He has a long attention span, and can stay looking at himself for quite a while. If I turn around, and Luke has disappeared, this is the first place I run to find him!

13

Lukey can light up a room with that smile! He smiles with his whole face and he has this old-manish belly laugh that is contagious. I love this kid. So what if he is turning orange from all the carrots and sweet potatoes he eats!

This isn't a very good picture, but I was kind of tired this morning because Will snuck into my room last night. Of course, I heard him tip toe in and stand next to the bed staring at me. I asked him "Will, why are you awake?" and his response was " 'Cause Mommy, I just like you so much.". So, I caved, and scooped him up and threw him in bed next to me. Here he is enjoying cartoons in bed the next morning. One of life's little pleasures!

Will inherited some a new tool set, and has been obsessed with it for several days, especially the measuring tape and the battery operated cordless drill. Luke and Will are starting to interact, and I love catching them doing brotherly things. Here is Will showing Luke how the measuring tape works. The Village People outfit was completely unintentional!

Our friends had us over for a yummy dinner! The boys had so much fun jumping on the bed together, they just thought it was so funny to stand up and fall down over and over and over.... even Luke was in on the action. Sometimes I wonder why we buy them so many toys??? Thanks for dinner G&C!!!

Bathtime is always a relaxing time around our house. We put the boys in the tub together and the only fussing is Will telling Luke to stop splashing! Today, bath was a little later than usual, and Lukey wanted his bottle more than he wanted to be in the tub. So will was enjoying the extra space, driving his boat and swimming like a fish, and Lukey was enjoying Daddy time. Luis did need a beer after this.

Lucas got to get some daddy-love this morning. The boys are so happy to wake up in the morning and remember that Daddy is home. Later on, Luis & Will went to the gym and had a lunch date a Chik-fil-a, and in the evening it was our turn for a sushi dinner date.

Before I leave for work, I have breakfast with the boys and play a little. Here is Will on Wednesday eating his breakfast of champions, showing off his big muscles. He said he had to eat his cereal to grow big & strong. The boys (and me) were happy later in the afternoon, because Luis came home from offshore.

Back to work today. I get up early so I can spend time with the boys before I leave. I really like working part time, and love feeling so happy to get home and have the kids running/speed crawling to welcome me home. Lukey is pulling up so well, and he tries to climb straight up my legs. How can I not love Will's high pitched "MOOOOMMMMMEEEEEE!"? As far as photo-blogging goes, it's 7:30, Lukey is fast asleep, I'm trying to snag a photo, and Will says "No Mommy, you stop it." when I try to take his picture. So that is a recent favorite of Lucas, my lovey boy.

4/365

It was a poopy day. So, as of 9:43pm, I don't have a photo for the day. Lukey wanted to be carried all day because his ears are bothering him (but the doctor said they were much, much improved). Will was just "TWO", all day long, and potty training at that. So, he had a poop accident, which I had to clean, and later in the evening, Lucas had to get even in the tub. Yup, he pooped in the tub. Oh yeah, and I had to steam clean our closet from ChiliDogs little poop accident, too. Why does this poop always happen to me??? So, if there is no photo today, I hope you'll understand. The only chance of a photo is if I sneak in to a sleeping childs room and take one, but that would risk waking the up. I'm thinking maybe not....

Will has some pretty notable quotes this days, so I think I'll add them so I can remember them.
"Mommy, I love you too much."
"Mommy, I take care of you" XX (as I'm cleaning his potty accident)

P.S. I tiptoes into their rooms to snag photos! Yes, if you look hard, you'll see Will, he covers his face with his lovey blankey.

Today was a typical Sunday… A slow morning, the late morning service at church, a hearty lunch at home, nap for the boys and mom (OK, that last one is not very typical). It was so cold, that there wasn’t much to do outside and we were bored with being inside, but our friends brought over a game for Will. It is his first board game, and we had a blast playing it on the floor together before bed. I am so happy when we spend time doing SOMETHING rather than smudged in front of the TV.

This is a glimpse into one of our imperfectly perfect days. Lucas is driving, Will’s eating a cookie for lunch and Chili is about to finish it if at all possible. It is January, and cold and wet outside, so we have being playing any and every thing inside. My boys are so sweet, Will was telling Lucas “Beep the horn Lukey”. And a few minutes later, he tried to pull him out of the car because it was his turn… ahhh… brotherly love .

New Year’s Day was spent with Good Friends, Good Food & LSU Football! The Rotolo’s had us over for a fish fry, probably our last hoorah before they leave for lands far away. The boys enjoyed playing outside on this cold, crisp, sunny day. I enjoyed spending time with my friends and their families, as they have become our family over the past 6 years! Cheers to friends and my first day of creating a year in photos!
